How to prevent white rust of galvanized steel coil

If a layer of condensation water can be seen in the galvanized layer surface of the galvanized products,like galvanized steel roofing sheet,galvanized steel coil, it will turn into corrosive water solution which sticks to the surface of galvanized layer after reacting with oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon, dust and other chemical gases, thus a kind of electrolyte will generate. The electrolyte can create white rust after electrochemical corrosion with zinc layer with poor stability.

Generally, when the water content in air is 60% or within 85-95%, the corrosion reaction is very fierce. When water temperature reaches 70℃ or so, the corrosivity speed to zinc layer is the quickest.

Therefore, how can we prevent white rust? As the manufacturer of galvanized products for many years experience,CAMELSTEEL will provide the following suggestions.

1.Condensation water is not allowed in the surface of galvanized steel sheet while stacking.
2.It is necessary to maintain ventilation in warehouse and the relative air humidity shall not be 60% or in the range of 85%-95%.
3.Harmful gas and excessive dust shall not be seen during packing.
4.Oil processing and passivating treatment shall be conducted in the surface of galvanized layer.
